Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in New Delhi yesterday. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Mr. Chouhan said, "Andhra Pradesh contributes nearly 10 percent to India's agriculture." He informed us that the central government has formed a team to strengthen the agricultural roadmap in the state through various schemes and initiatives. Mr. Chouhan also noted that Andhra Pradesh is rapidly implementing several schemes announced in the Union Budget 2026-27. Speaking to the media, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the state will emerge as a leader in the agriculture department. He said that Andhra Pradesh is strong in micro-irrigation and natural farming. Mr. Naidu highlighted that currently, 20 lakh farmers are practicing natural farming, covering 20 lakh acres of land, and the state aims to expand this to 50 lakh farmers across 50 lakh acres of land in the coming years.
