SSP Fertilizer Shipment Arrives in Anantnag

A new shipment of Single Super Phosphate fertilizer was unloaded at the Anantnag railway station to ensure supplies in advance of the peak cultivation season.

February 14, Srinagar: A new shipment of Single Super Phosphate (SSP) fertilizer was unloaded at the Anantnag railway station on Friday, aimed at ensuring adequate supplies for farmers in advance of the peak cultivation season.

The shipment was received in the presence of Joint Director, Agriculture, Madan Gopal Singh, Chief Agriculture Officer, Anantnag, Shahnawaz Hussain Shah, and SSP Fertilizer Chairman, Jawahar Wani.

Singh said that fertilizer shortages are often reported during the peak sowing period in Kashmir. With regular train shipments now being introduced, SSP fertilizer is expected to remain available throughout the year, he said.

He added that improved and consistent availability would benefit farmers, enhance soil health, and help maintain smooth agricultural operations across the region.

Officials said that the fertilizer will be distributed strictly through registered and licensed dealers to ensure transparency and proper supply management.

They described the arrival of regular shipments as a significant step toward strengthening the agricultural sector and providing relief to farmers in advance of the upcoming cultivation season.
