British Indian Cardiologist Dr Aseem Malhotra Appointed Adviser to Trump's MAHA Movement.webp

London, May 17 – British Indian Consultant Cardiologist Dr Aseem Malhotra has been appointed as Chief Medical Advisor to the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement, a key public health initiative aligned with former US President Donald Trump’s vision for healthcare reform.

Dr Malhotra, known for his advocacy of evidence-based medicine and criticism of certain aspects of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, will relocate to Washington, D.C., to serve in an advisory capacity. His primary focus areas will include reforming dietary guidelines, tackling the proliferation of ultra-processed foods, and calling for a moratorium on mRNA COVID-19 vaccines.

Public Health Advocacy and New Role

Dr Malhotra joins MAHA Action, a grassroots nonprofit led by prominent health figures, including US health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr and NIH Director Dr Jay Bhattacharya. Although he will not hold a formal position within the US federal government, his role is set to shape public health policy through research, education, and legislative advocacy.

“We absolutely can make America healthy again in this electoral term. I'm not doing this for political reasons but to reflect the evidence,” said Dr Malhotra, underscoring his commitment to evidence-based practices.

Vaccine Moratorium and Health Priorities

A vocal critic of mRNA COVID vaccines, Dr Malhotra reiterated his concerns, stating, “There is a pandemic of the vaccine injured. We can't make America healthy again if we don't address this.” He has consistently called for a halt in the use of these vaccines until further investigation into associated health risks is completed.

Recognition from the UK Medical Community

Dr Malhotra, who graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in medicine in 2001 and earned his Cardiology CCT in 2013, has received support from peers in the UK.

Dr Ramesh Mehta CBE, President of the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO), welcomed the announcement. “Dr Malhotra has a proven track record of campaigning for healthier lifestyle policies within the NHS. His advocacy against overmedication, sugar, fizzy drinks, and processed foods aligns with efforts to improve population health,” said Dr Mehta.

“He has been a strong advocate for ensuring that the patient’s voice is central in evidence-based treatment. His new role in the US has the potential to significantly impact the lives of millions,” he added.

Dr Malhotra’s appointment comes amid increasing global debates on public health strategies, making his upcoming contributions to the MAHA movement a closely watched development in the ongoing discourse around healthcare reform.
