Agartala, Feb 28: In a coordinated effort to curb illegal border crossings, the Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended 15 Bangladeshi nationals, including seven children, along with three Indian touts, in two separate operations in Tripura, officials confirmed on Friday.
BSF's Tactical Operations at the Border
Acting on intelligence inputs, the BSF set up surveillance in key border areas and successfully intercepted Bangladeshi nationals attempting to enter Indian territory. The individuals hailed from Moulvibazar, Sunamganj, Netrakona, and Barisal districts of Bangladesh.In a major operation at Kailashahar in Unakoti district on Thursday, BSF personnel detained three Bangladeshi men, three women, and seven children. Additionally, three Indian touts facilitating the illegal entry were also taken into custody.
Another Raid Prevents Illegal Border Crossing
In a separate operation conducted on the same day, the BSF detained two more Bangladeshis while they were trying to return to their home country through an unauthorized crossing.Railway Station Raid Uncovers Illegal Trade
In collaboration with the Government Railway Police (GRP), the BSF also conducted a raid at Agartala railway station, leading to the arrest of two Indian nationals allegedly involved in the illegal transportation of goods to Bangladesh.These operations highlight the BSF's continued vigilance along the Indo-Bangladesh border to prevent illegal migration and cross-border smuggling. Further investigations are underway to identify the networks facilitating such activities.
