Wife of BSF jawan posted in Tripura gets threat letter.webp

Shantipur (West Bengal), May 10 – Tension gripped a family in West Bengal's Nadia district after the wife of a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan received a threatening letter at her residence on Saturday, police confirmed.

The woman, Suparna Nag, lives in Shantipur with her two children while her husband, Biswajit Nag, is posted in Tripura. According to her statement, the anonymous threat has left her feeling unsafe and vulnerable.

“My husband is serving the country in Tripura. I am at home with my children. My in-laws are currently in Gujarat for medical treatment. I don’t know who left this letter, but I am terrified,” Suparna said from her residence.

Appealing for immediate police protection, she added, “I am very afraid. I want the police to ensure our safety.”

Biswajit’s elder brother Kajal Nag, who lives next door, echoed the concern. “Suparna and the children are frightened. We’re doing our best to support them, and we’ve already informed the police. My brother and I are in constant contact over the phone,” he said.

The local police have registered a case and begun investigating the source of the threat. “We suspect the involvement of miscreants with a past grudge against the family. No arrests have been made yet. We are speaking with locals to gather more information,” said an investigating officer.

Authorities are expected to enhance security around the residence as the probe continues.
