Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary Attend Wreath-Laying Ceremony
Jammu, May 11 – A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was held in Jammu on Sunday to honour BSF Sub-Inspector Mohammed Imteyaz, who laid down his life during cross-border shelling by Pakistan in the R S Pura sector. Top dignitaries and senior officials paid their last respects to the fallen hero, whose sacrifice has been hailed as an enduring symbol of courage and patriotism.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary led the tributes, joining grieving family members and personnel from security and civil administration in the heartfelt ceremony.
Among those present were Minister Satish Sharma, BSF Inspector General (Jammu Frontier) Shashank Anand, Jammu Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, and Inspector General of Police Bhim Sen Tuti, along with senior officials from the Border Security Force, police, and local administration.
Sacrifice Along the International Border
Sub-Inspector Imteyaz, a native of Bihar, was killed on Saturday when a mortar shell fired by Pakistan exploded near a BSF post along the International Border in the R S Pura sector. The attack also left seven BSF personnel injured."I salute the supreme sacrifice of our BSF braveheart. His valour and sacrifice will never be forgotten. The entire nation stands firmly with the family of the martyr in this hour of grief," said Lt Governor Manoj Sinha.
In a poignant moment, the Lt Governor personally consoled the officer’s young son, offering heartfelt condolences and support.
