The Rajya Sabha will resume discussions on the Union Budget for 2026-27 today. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to respond to the general debate on the Union Budget. Yesterday, in the Lok Sabha, she highlighted the strength of the economy and the government's vision for future growth. The report of the Standing Committee on Finance on "Roadmap for Indian economic growth in light of global economic and geopolitical circumstances" will be presented by MP Bhartruhari Mahtab in the lower house of Parliament. The first phase of the budget session commenced on January 28th and will continue until tomorrow. After a break, the second phase will take place from March 9th to April 2nd of this year.
