Berhampur (Odisha), February 14 At least 20 passengers of a bus were injured, two of them seriously, when the vehicle skidded off the road and collided with a roadside hillock in Gajapati district, Odisha, on Saturday, police said.
The accident occurred in Chandiput, within the jurisdiction of the Mohana police station in Gajapati district.
The two seriously injured passengers were referred to MKCG Medical College and Hospital here, while the others were taken to medical facilities in Mohana and Chandragiri areas, police said.
The bus was travelling from Chandiput to Luhagudi in the district when the driver lost control and crashed into the hillock while attempting to overtake another bus, according to Basant Kumar Sethy, in-charge of the Mohana police station.
Local people and police rushed to the scene and rescued the injured, who were then taken to hospitals, police said.
