CCTV footage of the late-night mishap at Nimbalkar Chowk goes viral; no injuries reported
Pune, May 11 – Pune police have launched an investigation after an unidentified car ploughed into several parked two-wheelers in the city’s Kothrud area, causing damage to multiple vehicles but no reported injuries.The incident occurred around 8:45 pm on Saturday at Nimbalkar Chowk and was captured on CCTV footage that has since gone viral on social media. The video shows the car speeding into the stationary two-wheelers, toppling and damaging at least three to four vehicles, before fleeing the scene.
"Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident," an official from Alankar police station confirmed on Sunday. "We have registered a case against the unidentified driver and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend him."
The case has been registered under Section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (rash driving) along with relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Authorities are urging anyone with additional information about the incident or the vehicle involved to come forward as the investigation progresses.
