
New Delhi, February 10 An alleged criminal, wanted in connection with a murder by the Haryana Police, was deported from the USA on Tuesday in an operation coordinated by the CBI in collaboration with the Ministries of External Affairs and Home Affairs, officials said.
Sombir Motta was wanted by the Haryana Police for an offense related to murder and the use of firearms, a CBI spokesperson said in a statement.
"The subject has been deported from the USA to India on February 10, 2026, and the Haryana Police is taking over custody of the subject.
Earlier, the CBI obtained a red notice for Sombir Motta through INTERPOL on February 11, 2025, at the request of the Haryana Police," the spokesperson said.
She said the agency coordinated with NCB Washington to locate and deport the subject to India.
