Bhopal, May 10 — Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday hailed the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan as a major victory for the nation. Speaking to the media after attending a programme at Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal, Yadav lauded the Indian armed forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for compelling Pakistan to step back."The Indian armed forces have shown exceptional courage and valour. This ceasefire is not just a diplomatic move but a strong statement that brought the enemies to their knees," Yadav stated. He added that under Prime Minister Modi’s guidance, India had displayed strategic strength and unwavering resolve in the face of provocation.
Praise for PM Modi’s Strategic Leadership
Highlighting India's past military responses to terrorism, including surgical and air strikes, Yadav said, “I congratulate the Prime Minister. He crafted a strategy within defined limits, used advanced technology, and within a short span earned global recognition. This is amazing — every Indian’s chest has become 56 inches broad with pride.”He emphasized that any decision taken under PM Modi’s leadership would always be in the national interest, and reiterated that this development was a reflection of India’s decisive and effective handling of threats.
Ceasefire Announced Amid Heightened Tensions
Earlier in the day, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed that the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan had agreed to halt all military actions — on land, in air, and at sea — effective from 5 PM Saturday.The ceasefire announcement follows heightened tensions in the region and marks a significant step toward de-escalation.
