Shimla, Feb 3 (PTI): The Central Government has allocated ₹2,716 crore for railway projects in Himachal Pradesh under the Union Budget for 2025-26, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Monday.
During a video conference on state-wise budget allocations, Vaishnaw stated that the funding would support significant upgrades, including the modernization of four railway stations following the Amrit Station model. He emphasized that work on these projects would commence soon, ensuring enhanced infrastructure and passenger amenities.
Additionally, the Railway Minister highlighted that safety measures and railway track upgrades in the state would be undertaken in mission mode, prioritizing efficiency and security across the network.
The announcement underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening railway connectivity and modernization efforts in Himachal Pradesh.
