New Delhi, Feb 26: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to supporting Maharashtra’s urban redevelopment and infrastructure projects. Speaking at an event in Mumbai (North) on February 25, Goyal emphasized the government's resolve to provide permanent housing for the homeless and residents currently living in temporary structures, ensuring they receive homes in the same locality.

Goyal, who represents Mumbai (North) in the Lok Sabha, attended the event alongside Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. During the gathering, they handed over keys to 15 self-redeveloped housing societies in North Mumbai, marking a significant step in the state’s housing development efforts.

The minister also highlighted the ongoing construction of a 1,000-bed hospital near Magathane metro station, which is progressing at a fast pace. Additionally, he announced plans for another 1,000-bed hospital in West Kandivali, a move aimed at enhancing healthcare infrastructure and accessibility in the region.

The Centre’s collaboration with the Maharashtra government is expected to accelerate urban transformation, improving both housing and healthcare facilities for residents.
