New Delhi, February 13 Abhishek Sharma, the aggressive opener who is recovering from a stomach infection, appears set to play in Sunday's crucial T20 match against Pakistan, according to India spinner Varun Chakravarthy.
Abhishek missed the match against Namibia on Thursday due to the infection, which required a two-day hospital stay.
"As far as I've spoken to him, he looks good, and he also practiced today. He told me he's on the mend," said Chakravarthy, who had a stellar performance with the ball against Namibia, helping India win by 93 runs.
During the toss, India captain Suryakumar Yadav had stated that Abhishek would likely miss one or two games before regaining full fitness.
Sanju Samson opened alongside Ishan Kishan in Abhishek's absence.
Defending champions India are unbeaten in the tournament, having won their opening match against the USA on Saturday.
It is believed that his training session in Colombo will be an indicator of his readiness for the high-pressure match.
If he bats for a long period as he usually does during practice, he is likely to be available for the match.
