Chhattisgarh’s GSDP Projected to Grow 7.51% in FY 2024-25, Per Capita Income to Reach ₹1.62 Lakh

Raipur, Feb 28: Chhattisgarh’s economy is poised for significant growth, with the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at constant prices projected to expand by 7.51% in the fiscal year 2024-25, according to the Economic Survey Report presented in the state assembly on Friday. The per capita income is expected to rise to ₹1,62,870, reflecting a 9.37% increase from the previous fiscal year.

Economic Growth Overview

The Economic Survey, tabled by Planning, Economics and Statistics Department Minister OP Chaudhary, highlighted that the state's GSDP at constant prices (base year 2011-12) is projected to reach ₹3,29,752 crore in FY 2024-25. This marks an increase from ₹3,06,712 crore in FY 2023-24, based on quick estimates.

At current prices, the GSDP is anticipated to grow by 10.89%, reaching ₹5,67,880 crore in FY 2024-25, up from ₹5,12,107 crore in the previous fiscal year.

Sector-Wise Performance

The report also provided insights into sectoral growth, indicating steady expansion across agriculture, industry, and services:
  • Agriculture & Allied Sectors (including agriculture, livestock, forestry, and fishing) are expected to grow by 5.38%.
  • Industry Sector (comprising mining, quarrying, construction, manufacturing, and utilities like electricity, gas, and water supply) is forecasted to expand by 6.92%.
  • Service Sector is projected to witness the highest growth at 8.54%, surpassing its FY 2023-24 performance.

Per Capita Income on the Rise

The per capita Net State Domestic Product (NSDP) at current prices is set to increase from ₹1,48,922 in FY 2023-24 to ₹1,62,870 in FY 2024-25. This 9.37% rise underscores improved economic prosperity in the state.

The latest Economic Survey highlights robust growth across key sectors, reinforcing Chhattisgarh’s economic resilience. With a strong performance in services and steady industrial expansion, the state’s economic trajectory for FY 2024-25 remains promising.
