
Patna, February 16 Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit chaired a high-level meeting with a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Monday to discuss potential partnerships in infrastructure, healthcare, energy, and skills development, officials said.
During the meeting, ADB's investment proposals worth over US$1 billion for the state's comprehensive development were thoroughly discussed.
According to a statement from the Cabinet Secretariat department, "A high-level strategic meeting was held between the ADB and the Bihar government, chaired by Amrit. The ADB team was led by Mio Oka, Country Director, India, ADB."
Amrit welcomed the ADB team.
"Bihar is currently fully prepared to make significant progress in key sectors of its economic and infrastructure framework. The partnership with ADB will be highly beneficial for the state," the statement quoted Amrit as saying. "We assure the ADB team that the proposals received will be discussed promptly, and the state government will soon provide an action plan."
Oka gave a detailed presentation highlighting key areas of partnership with the Bihar government during the meeting.
The presentation included major project proposals, including the comprehensive development of the Buddhist circuit, the water resources and agriculture transformation project, the comprehensive skills development project, an urban infrastructure and resilience project for selected cities, the energy sector, expansion of renewable energy, and strengthening of grid integration, the statement said.
The ADB's Bihar Health and Medical Education Transformation Project was also discussed at the meeting.
The meeting was also attended by additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, and secretaries from various departments.
