
Mumbai, February 15 – To celebrate Mahashivaratri, several members of the entertainment industry used social media to wish the public on this auspicious occasion.
Tollywood superstar Chiranjeevi posted on his official X (formerly known as Twitter) account, writing: "If a person's ignorance is overcome by spiritual awareness, every person becomes Lord Shiva. Har Har Mahadev"
He continued, "I wish that everyone finds inner peace and experiences the essence of Shiva on this Mahashivaratri. Happy Mahashivaratri. Happy #Mahashivratri Om Namah Shivaya"
Bollywood star Akshay Kumar also wrote on the micro-blogging site, "May the grace of Lord Shiva always be upon us... Om Namah Shivaya. Heartfelt wishes on Mahashivaratri. Jai Mahakaal."
Actor Suniel Shetty posted a photo of himself on Instagram, peacefully dressed as a Sadhu (holy man), and wished everyone on Mahashivaratri, saying, "When inner noise subsides... Shiva appears... Har Har Mahadev... Best wishes for Mahashivaratri to all."
Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan added, "I wish you all the love and light of Mahadev... Happy Mahashivratri."
Actress Raveena Tondon also posted a couple of pictures of herself from one of her temple visits on social media, along with the caption "Har Har Mahadev."
In January 2025, Raveena embarked on a fulfilling spiritual journey with her daughter Rasha Thadani, offering prayers at all 12 Jyotirlingas spread across the country.
Raveena also shared snippets from her religious visits to Kedarnath, Mahakaleshwar, and Rameswaram on social media. Their pilgrimage covered a large distance from Uttarakhand to Tamil Nadu, and finally concluded in Gujarat with a visit to the Nageshwar Jyotirlinga.
For those who don't know, Maha Shivaratri commemorates the marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
The festival is celebrated across the country by chanting prayers, fasting, and offering prayers at a Shiva temple.
