Clash Erupts Over Dispute at Community Feast in Bihar’s Nalanda; One Injured, 10 Arrested

Nalanda, Bihar, Feb 27 – A dispute over public urination near a community feast led to a clash between two groups in Bihar’s Nalanda district, leaving one person injured and resulting in the arrest of 10 individuals, police reported on Thursday.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening in Mafi village when tensions flared as a few individuals were allegedly seen urinating near the site of a 'Bhandara' (community feast), triggering an altercation. According to Nalanda Superintendent of Police (SP) Bharat Soni, the disagreement escalated into a full-fledged clash around 7:30 PM.

"One person sustained injuries in the scuffle. The police intervened promptly, restoring order at the site. The injured individual was admitted to a government hospital and is expected to be discharged on Thursday," SP Soni stated.

Authorities have registered a case and detained 10 individuals in connection with the incident. Meanwhile, the police have dismissed speculations of any communal angle.

"There is no communal aspect to this incident, as has been misrepresented in certain sections of the media," the SP clarified.

The identity of the injured person has not been disclosed by the police. Investigations are ongoing.
