Cybersecurity firm gears up for US expansion with strategic investment boost

New Delhi, May 20 — CloudSEK, a leading Indian cybersecurity company, has secured $19 million in fresh funding at a valuation of approximately $118 million (around ₹1,000 crore), marking a five-fold increase compared to its previous round. The company plans to leverage this capital to establish its operations in the United States, according to Co-Founder and CEO Rahul Sasi.

Speaking about the development, Sasi stated, "We have raised USD 19 million from some of the strategic investors after a period of about three years. In three years, our revenue has grown five times, and so has our valuation. We have raised funds at a valuation of around ₹1,000 crore mainly to set up our US operations."

Strategic Investors Join the Round

The funding round drew participation from both Indian and US-based investors. Key participants include:
  • MassMutual Ventures
  • Inflexor Ventures
  • Prana Ventures
  • Tenacity Ventures
  • Commvault (as a strategic investor)
Additionally, existing backers such as the Meeran Family (founders of Eastern Group), StartupXSeed, Neon Fund, and Exfinity Ventures continue to support the firm.

US Expansion and Talent Growth Plans

CloudSEK has been invited by a US delegation to establish a base in the country, a first for an Indian cybersecurity firm, according to Sasi. “Our significant amount of revenue comes from America... With fresh funds, we plan to build a 100 people team in the US over the next 2-3 years,” he said.

Currently, the company employs around 100 team members in India.

Profitability and AI-Powered Cybersecurity

Sasi highlighted that CloudSEK is cashflow positive and nearing profitability. He further shared plans to channel the new funds into AI-based cybersecurity model development, focused on practical, wisdom-driven solutions rather than competing with large language models.

“Our aim is to create models specifically tailored for cybersecurity threats. We won’t compete with LLMs but will focus on building wisdom-based tools to address security challenges,” he added.

With this significant funding and a strong growth trajectory, CloudSEK is poised to solidify its presence globally while strengthening India’s reputation in the cybersecurity domain.
