New Delhi, May 17—Delhi woke up to an overcast sky on Saturday morning. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported a minimum temperature of 24.3 degrees Celsius, which is 2.2 degrees below the seasonal average.

The IMD has predicted thunderstorms accompanied by rain during the day. Despite the cloud cover, the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 42 degrees Celsius.

Humidity levels remained moderate, with the relative humidity recorded at 55 per cent at 8:30 am.

According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), air quality in the capital was 'moderate' at 9 a.m. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 183.

For reference, the CPCB categorizes AQI levels as follows:
  • 0–50: Good
  • 51–100: Satisfactory
  • 101–200: Moderate
  • 201–300: Poor
  • 301–400: Very Poor
  • 401–500: Severe

With rain likely and rising temperatures, residents are advised to stay prepared for sudden weather changes while monitoring AQI levels throughout the day.
