CM Chandrababu Naidu Calls for Unity, Welcomes Ceasefire Amidst Terror Tensions
Vijayawada, May 10 — In the wake of Operation Sindoor and the recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday stressed the importance of national unity, declaring that the nation must always come first.
Naidu made these remarks during an inter-faith meeting convened by Governor S Abdul Nazeer at the Raj Bhavan. The gathering was attended by various religious leaders, public representatives and civil society members, aiming to reinforce solidarity following the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives."Nation First" Call in Wake of Terror Strikes
"Nation first. We have to protect our country. Let any problem come to the country, every person living in Bharat should not only say that we all will be together but it is also the responsibility of all of us to walk forward together," Naidu stated.He termed the Pahalgam attack not just an assault on innocent tourists but a deliberate attempt to disturb national peace. Emphasising the need for a united voice across religion, caste, and region, Naidu said the entire country had condemned the attack immediately.
Support for Ceasefire and Centre’s Decisions
Welcoming the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, Naidu extended his full support to the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Any decision taken by the Prime Minister and the Centre for the future of the country should be supported,” he added.Governor Highlights Strategic Response by Armed Forces
Governor Abdul Nazeer lauded the Indian armed forces for their response to the Pahalgam attack, describing it as an operation carried out with “exemplary courage, surgical precision and strategic restraint.”Quoting the Defence Ministry, Nazeer clarified that the strikes were “focused, measured, and non-escalatory,” avoiding any Pakistani military or civilian targets. He said this response not only showcased India’s strength but also its responsibility.
