Operation Sindoor Showcased BrahMos Valour, Says Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister
Lucknow, May 11 — Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday lauded the BrahMos missile system, calling it a symbol of India's military might and self-reliance. He was speaking at the inauguration of the BrahMos Aerospace Integration and Testing Facility in Lucknow, where he declared that a glimpse of BrahMos' power was visible during Operation Sindoor and invited sceptics to "ask Pakistan" about its impact."Time to Crush Terrorism Under PM Modi's Leadership"
In his address, Adityanath emphasized the need for a united national front against terrorism. "Until we completely crush terrorism, there will be no solution to this problem. The time has come to crush it and for this, entire India, in one voice, has to unite under Modi's leadership," he said.Referring to terrorism as a "dog’s tail" that can never be straightened, he underlined that India must respond in the same language — with strength. He credited Operation Sindoor for sending a clear message to the world regarding India's zero-tolerance policy against terror.
India's Push for Defence Self-Reliance
The Chief Minister underscored the strategic importance of defence self-sufficiency, citing Israel as an example. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for spearheading initiatives like the Defence Manufacturing Corridor and the establishment of the BrahMos facility in Lucknow."Self-reliant nations must not depend on others for their defence. The BrahMos missile and the Defence Manufacturing Corridor are a part of the targets set by Prime Minister Modi in 2014," Adityanath said.
Defence Investment and Job Creation in Uttar Pradesh
Highlighting Uttar Pradesh's transformation into a defence manufacturing hub, Adityanath said, "The target was to bring Rs 50,000 crore worth of investment into six defence corridors and create one lakh jobs. So far, 57 MoUs have been signed, attracting investments of around Rs 30,000 crore and creating employment for approximately 60,000 youth."He contrasted this progress with the previous Samajwadi Party-led administration, stating that lack of policy and security earlier had driven away investors. "Today, people and investments are safe, and we are equipped with the necessary infrastructure," he added.
Event Highlights and Dignitary Presence
The event also witnessed the launch of a book titled "Brahmand", focusing on India's defence production. Appointment letters were handed over to candidates selected by BrahMos Aerospace, and a missile replica was presented to the Chief Minister.Several dignitaries attended the inauguration, including Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, Rajya Sabha MP Brajlal, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, and senior officials from the DRDO and BrahMos Aerospace.
The establishment of this facility marks a significant step forward in India's journey toward defence independence and industrial growth in Uttar Pradesh.
