CM Yogi Adityanath Orders FIR Against Ansal Group, Assures Homebuyer Protection

Lucknow, March 3: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken decisive action against the Ansal Group, directing authorities to register an FIR against the company following the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT)'s decision to initiate insolvency proceedings against it. The move aims to safeguard the interests of homebuyers who have been affected by alleged fraudulent practices of the real estate firm.

Crackdown on Ansal Group’s Alleged Fraud​

During a review meeting of the Housing and Urban Planning Department, CM Adityanath stressed that any fraudulent activities by the Ansal Group would not be tolerated. He ordered that FIRs be registered in all districts where similar complaints against the company exist, following the pattern of legal action taken in Lucknow.

To strengthen the legal case, the Chief Minister directed the formation of a committee comprising the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) and affected homebuyers, ensuring that solid evidence is presented in court to hold the company accountable.

Legal Pushback Against NCLAT Decision​

The chief minister also expressed strong displeasure over the NCLAT's unilateral decision to pass an insolvency order against Ansal Group without prior notification to the Lucknow Development Authority and the Housing Department. In response, he ordered the authorities to file an appeal against the decision, citing the larger public interest.

Focus on Urban Development and Metro Projects​

In addition to addressing the real estate fraud concerns, CM Adityanath reviewed the progress of major metro projects, including those in Kanpur, Lucknow, and Agra. He instructed officials to expedite the construction of metro corridors to ensure their timely completion.

Roadmap for $1 Trillion Economy​

The meeting also covered progress on Uttar Pradesh’s roadmap towards becoming a $1 trillion economy, with key initiatives including:

• Establishment of 100 new townships.
• Digitization of administrative processes.
• Fast-tracking property disposals.
• Development of 100 hotels and 100 hospitals.

CM Adityanath stressed that construction quality must never be compromised, cautioning against unplanned urbanization.

Urban Expansion and Slum Redevelopment​

To tackle uncontrolled urban growth, the Chief Minister directed development authorities to:

• Construct high-rise buildings for better space utilization.
• Build residential facilities, parks, and gyms in slum areas to enhance living standards.

Master Plan Implementation and Key Infrastructure Projects​

The CM set a March deadline for the implementation of GIS-based master plans across various districts. He also directed officials to accelerate land acquisition for key projects, including the Agra Inner Ring Road Rahnkala and Raipur development.

Additionally, he urged faster execution of urban expansion projects in Jhansi, Bareilly, Aligarh, Gorakhpur, Bulandshahr, Chitrakoot, and Agra under the Chief Minister Urban Expansion New City Promotion Scheme.

Push for International Convention Center in Lucknow​

Reviewing the International Exhibition and Convention Center in Lucknow, CM Adityanath instructed officials to fast-track scheduled works to meet project deadlines.
