February 12, New Delhi: The mega event, CISF Cyclothon 2026, was launched from Mumbai's iconic Gateway of India, marking a major nationwide initiative under the theme 'Vande Mataram'.

The cyclothon also commenced simultaneously from West Bengal and Gujarat, symbolizing India's unity and collective spirit as it travels along the eastern and western coasts of the country.

Prominent dignitaries present at the launch event included Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar, film producer Boney Kapoor, former cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar, CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan, and Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharati.

The dignitaries flagged off the cyclists amid enthusiastic participation from citizens, youth, sportspersons, and security personnel. The event aims to raise awareness about coastal security, national unity, and fitness, while reinforcing the message of patriotism and social responsibility.

A cultural program was also organized during the event, featuring performances of Indian folk songs. The cyclothon witnessed strong public engagement and patriotic fervor, making it a memorable and inspiring nationwide campaign.

Addressing the gathering, Speaker Rahul Narvekar said that the CISF has been playing a vital role in ensuring the country's safety and security. He noted that the cyclothon's journey across both the eastern and western coasts reflected India's "unity in diversity."

He added that the unity and integrity embedded in India's culture have been safeguarded by forces like the CISF, and such initiatives further strengthen national harmony. He also emphasised that secure coastlines are key to building a prosperous India.
