New Delhi, May 17 — The Congress party on Saturday confirmed that it has nominated four of its Members of Parliament to be part of the all-party delegations that will travel to key countries later this month to present India’s resolute stand against terrorism emanating from Pakistan. This move follows the government’s outreach to political parties in the aftermath of the recent Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor.
The Congress named senior leaders Anand Sharma, Gaurav Gogoi, Syed Naseer Hussain, and Amrinder Singh Raja Warring as its representatives. The nominations were communicated to the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs on May 16 by Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh stated, “Yesterday morning, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju spoke with the Congress President and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. The INC was asked to submit names of 4 MPs for the delegations to be sent abroad to explain India's stance on terrorism from Pakistan.”
