Spanning 10 acres, the facility has an initial production capacity of 2,000 tractors per month, catering to low, mid, and high-horsepower segments, Farrokh N Cooper, Chairman and Managing Director of Cooper Corporation, told PTI.
Global Collaboration and Investment
The NDC Series has been developed in partnership with leading global engineering firms—Magna Steyr for design, Ricardo (UK) for engine development, Carraro for transmission, and Mita for hydraulics. These tractors are designed to serve both domestic and international markets.Cooper highlighted that the company took three years to set up the facility, investing ₹50-60 crore from internal funds without external borrowing. "As an established engine manufacturer, we already had expertise in engine design and key components. This made our transition to tractor manufacturing seamless," he noted.
Production and Market Strategy
The Satara facility will manufacture tractors ranging from 25 HP to 75 HP, starting with a 49 HP variant. The horsepower range will include:- 25-30 HP (Lower-end segment)
- 45 HP (Mid-range option)
- Up to 75 HP (High-end segment)
