Court Sets Date for Hearing on Alleged Anti-National Remarks.webp

Prayagraj, February 12 The Allahabad High Court has fixed March 11 as the next date of hearing for a petition challenging an order issued by a Sambhal court in favour of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his alleged controversial remarks in 2025.

The Sambhal court had rejected an application seeking registration of an FIR against Gandhi over his remarks.

According to petitioner Simran Gupta of the Hindu Shakti Dal, during the inauguration of the AICC office in 2025, Gandhi allegedly remarked: "We are now fighting the BJP, the RSS, and the Indian State itself."

Gandhi's remark constitutes a seditious and anti-national statement deliberately made with the intent to destabilize the country, the petitioner alleged.

Justice Samit Gopal granted Gupta time on Wednesday to file a supplementary affidavit in support of her petition.

The court, in its order, stated, "The counsel for the petitioner wants to file a supplementary affidavit and requests two weeks' time. The request is granted. If such a supplementary affidavit is filed, the office shall accept it and place it on record for the next hearing."

The court clarified that no interim order had been passed by it.
