New Delhi, March 1, 2025: Raja Ram Singh, the Lok Sabha floor leader of the CPI(ML) Liberation, has expressed frustration over the significant delay in obtaining possession of his official residence, even seven months after its official allotment.

In an official letter addressed to Lok Sabha House Committee Chairman Mahesh Sharma on Friday, Singh highlighted the prolonged delay, stating, "I was allotted 21, Meena Bagh, Maulana Azad Road as my official accommodation on August 14, 2024. However, to date, I have not been given possession of the house. Despite multiple follow-ups with the concerned Central Public Works Department officials, the possession of my allotted accommodation continues to be delayed without any definitive timeline."

Initially, Singh was provided accommodation at South Avenue, but complications arose when the existing occupant—a guest of a BJP MP—informed Singh that immediate vacation was not possible. Consequently, the House Committee reassigned Singh to the 21, Meena Bagh residence, inadvertently contributing to further delays.

Expressing his dissatisfaction, Singh mentioned, "Now close to seven months have passed. There is still no clarity regarding the handover of my accommodation." He emphasized that the ongoing uncertainty around housing arrangements is negatively affecting his official duties and responsibilities as a Member of Parliament.

Raja Ram Singh, elected as an MP for the first time from Karakat constituency, serves as the parliamentary floor leader of CPI(ML). The party currently has two representatives in the Lok Sabha—Singh himself and Sudama Prasad from the Arrah constituency.

The delay raises concerns about the efficiency and responsiveness of housing allotment processes for Members of Parliament, especially first-time representatives facing challenges in fulfilling their parliamentary duties effectively.
