Five-Day Event to Highlight Top Women Cricketers from Across India
The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) has announced a five-day coaching camp aimed at empowering and honing the skills of India's leading women cricketers who have excelled in national championships. The camp will be held from March 24 to March 28, 2025, in Bengaluru.
A total of 29 talented players from various states across India have been selected to participate, including 10 players in the B1 category, 9 in B2, and 10 in B3. The categories B1, B2, and B3 classify visually impaired athletes based on their visibility levels, ranging from complete blindness to partial vision.
Expert Training and Mentorship Program
Participants at the camp will receive specialized training, expert mentorship, and performance evaluations from CABI’s experienced panel of coaches and selectors. This intensive coaching camp is designed not only to develop technical cricket skills but also to prepare players for future national and international cricket tournaments.
Commenting on the significance of the camp, Dr. Mahantesh G Kivadasannavar, Chairman of CABI, stated, "This camp is more than just training—it is about breaking barriers, nurturing raw talent, and building a future where women's blind cricket thrives."
He further added, "With players coming in from different states, this initiative strengthens the foundation of women's blind cricket in India and highlights the depth of talent in the sport."
The initiative underscores CABI’s ongoing efforts to boost women's cricket for the visually impaired and reinforce India's commitment to inclusive sporting excellence.
