Imphal, May 17 – The body of CRPF officer Maharabam Prabo Singh, who tragically lost his life after being struck by lightning during an anti-Maoist operation in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district, was brought to Manipur on Saturday afternoon.

A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Imphal airport, where Manipur Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh, senior officials, legislators, and family members paid tribute to the fallen officer.

R. Duidang, Deputy Inspector General of CRPF for the Manipur and Nagaland Sector, told reporters, “Prabo laid down his life in the line of duty after being struck by lightning during an anti-Maoist operation conducted by the 26th Battalion of the CRPF. He had joined the force in 2006 and was a serious and focused officer. The force will never forget him.”

Following the ceremony, Prabo’s mortal remains were taken to his native place in Sekmai, located in Imphal West district, for the final rites.
