Restriction to Remain in Force from May 12 to June 11

Hyderabad, May 12 — The Cyberabad Police Commissionerate has imposed a ban on the flying of drones, para-gliders, and micro-light aircraft within a five-kilometer radius of two key Air Force establishments — the Air Force Station at Hakimpet and the Indian Air Force Academy at Dundigal.

The prohibition, issued on Monday, is effective from May 12 to June 11, and is part of precautionary security measures to ensure the safety of critical defense infrastructure and surrounding areas.

Commissioner of Police Avinash Mohanty invoked Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) to enforce the order, citing the need to prevent any potential threat, danger, or injury that could arise from unauthorized aerial activity.

The official notification stated that any individual found violating the order will face legal action under applicable sections of the law.

This move aligns with ongoing efforts by law enforcement and defense agencies to strengthen airspace security, especially around sensitive installations.
