Chandigarh, Feb 3 (PTI): In a significant move to bolster cybersecurity measures, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Monday inaugurated a newly established cybercrime police station in Pathankot district.
Highlighting the initiative as a major stride in tackling cyber threats, Yadav emphasized the department’s commitment to leveraging advanced technology and specialized expertise to combat digital crimes.
"Punjab Police is fully equipped to address financial frauds, online threats, and digital crimes with real-time transaction freezing, advanced forensic tools, and a team of highly trained cyber experts," Yadav stated in a post on X.
He further stressed the importance of evolving strategies in the face of emerging cyber challenges. "With evolving challenges in the digital space, we continue to enhance our capabilities. Our team at @CyberCrimePbInd is dedicated to assisting citizens, ensuring swift response, and protecting them from cybercriminals," he added.
The establishment of this cybercrime police station marks a proactive step by Punjab Police in reinforcing cybersecurity and safeguarding the public against digital fraud.
