New Delhi, April 1 — The India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) has named Debmalya Sen as its new President, effective immediately, marking a significant leadership move aimed at accelerating India’s clean energy transition.
Sen has also worked closely with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in formulating India's energy storage policies.

In his new role, Sen will lead IESA’s strategic initiatives, industry collaborations, and policy advocacy, according to Vinayak Walimbe, Managing Director of Customized Energy Solutions India Pvt Ltd. Walimbe emphasized that Sen's expertise in battery storage, grid modernization, and green hydrogen will be instrumental in advancing IESA’s mission of building a resilient and sustainable energy future.A Proven Track Record in Energy Transition
Prior to joining IESA, Sen held the position of India Lead – Advanced Energy Solutions at the World Economic Forum. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in shaping global and national conversations on energy transition, policy frameworks, and cutting-edge technologies, including green hydrogen and energy storage.Sen has also worked closely with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in formulating India's energy storage policies.
