Patna, May 11 — A decomposed body of an unidentified woman was recovered from a rainwater drain pipe at the under-construction terminal of Patna’s Jai Prakash Narayan International Airport on Saturday evening, officials confirmed.
Police Response and Investigation
Airport police were alerted at approximately 7:10 pm after workers inspecting the drainage network noticed the remains. Officers reached the scene promptly and cut open the pipe to retrieve the body, said SDPO-1 (Sachiwalay) Anu Kumari.
Efforts to Identify the Deceased
Investigators believe the woman was between 35 and 40 years old. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to establish the cause and approximate time of death. Police teams are working from multiple angles to determine how the victim ended up inside the drainage system and whether foul play was involved.
Statements from Construction Personnel
Workers and contractors present at the site are being questioned, and their statements are being recorded as part of the inquiry. Authorities have appealed to the public for any information that could help identify the deceased.
