New Delhi, May 11 – The Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has confirmed that operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) remain normal, but travelers may face delays in flight schedules and extended processing times at security checkpoints due to enhanced security measures.
These precautions continue to be in place following recent tensions between India and Pakistan. Although both countries reached an agreement on Saturday to cease all military actions on land, air, and sea, the heightened security protocols at airports remain active.
“Delhi Airport operations continue as normal. However, due to changing airspace dynamics and enhanced security protocols, some flight schedules and processing times at security checkpoints may be affected,” DIAL posted on X.
As India's busiest airport, IGIA typically manages around 1,300 flight movements daily. In light of the current situation, passengers have been advised to plan accordingly.
DIAL has urged travelers to allow additional time for security checks and to cooperate fully with airport and airline personnel to ensure smooth and safe transit through the airport.
