Delhi Assembly Speaker Reads Letter from LG VK Saxena Highlighting Mission-Mode Strategy for Development

New Delhi, March 3 — On Monday, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta read out a letter from Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena to the House, underscoring the importance of adopting a mission-mode strategy to achieve the city's developmental objectives.

In the letter, LG Saxena congratulated the Assembly for taking positive steps toward fulfilling the promises made in his inaugural address. "I congratulate the House for taking constructive steps towards fulfilling the promises outlined in my address. We need a mission-mode strategy to ensure their implementation. I am pleased that the government has already begun working towards these commitments," the LG stated.

The letter further expressed gratitude to the Assembly members and acknowledged the passage of a motion thanking the Lieutenant Governor for his address.

Saxena had delivered his address to the newly elected Delhi Assembly on February 25. Following this, Speaker Gupta sent a formal communication on behalf of the House, informing the LG that the motion of thanks for his address was passed by voice vote on February 28.

The February Assembly elections saw the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) returning to power in Delhi after more than 26 years, winning 48 out of 70 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which previously held the majority, saw a significant reduction in its seat count, securing only 22 seats.
