New Delhi, May 10 — Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has directed top officials to bolster emergency preparedness across the national capital.
During a high-level review meeting held at the Delhi Secretariat on Saturday, CM Gupta emphasized the need for proactive measures to handle potential crisis scenarios such as blackouts, civilian displacement, and medical emergencies. She also convened a separate session with her Cabinet ministers to ensure inter-departmental coordination.
Hospitals and Health Infrastructure on Alert
Senior officials confirmed that the Health Department has been instructed to maintain an ample stock of essential medicines and to prepare intensive care units (ICUs) for any sudden influx of patients. Gupta stressed that all government hospitals must be fully equipped and staffed to respond to emergencies.Power and Shelter Contingency Plans
In anticipation of potential blackouts, the Power Department has been tasked with devising a comprehensive contingency plan.
