Delhi Court Sends Hashim Baba’s Wife to Judicial Custody in Greater Kailash Gym Owner Murder Case

New Delhi, Feb 27: A Delhi court has sent Zoya Khan, wife of alleged gangster Hashim Baba, to two-week judicial custody in connection with the murder of gym owner Nadir Shah in the upscale Greater Kailash area in September last year.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Anuj Kumar Singh ordered Khan’s judicial custody after the police submitted an application stating that her further custodial interrogation was not required. However, authorities had initially sought her custody to unearth a larger conspiracy and determine her role in the case.

Possible Gang Connection

Police suspect that apart from Hashim Baba, members associated with jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi may also be linked to the murder. Investigators are working to recover the weapons used in the crime, alleging that all accused were in communication through encrypted app-based calls.

Victim’s Background and Case Details

The victim, Nadir Shah, co-owned a gym in Greater Kailash Part 1 and had a history of criminal charges, including robbery and attempted murder. Additionally, he ran a business in Dubai. His father, originally from Afghanistan, had settled in Delhi years ago.

Zoya Khan’s Defense

During a previous court hearing, Khan asserted her innocence, stating, "My only crime is that I am Hashim Baba's wife. I am not involved in any case against him."

The investigation continues as authorities delve deeper into the alleged connections between the accused and organized crime networks.
