Parents in Critical Condition After Tragic Incident at Sangam Park Industrial Shed

New Delhi, May 12 – In a heart-wrenching incident in Delhi's Sangam Park area, two minor children died and their parents were critically injured after allegedly inhaling toxic fumes in a suspected suicide attempt, police said on Monday.

The tragedy unfolded at a bike horn manufacturing unit located at DSIDC Shed number 63. The family reportedly reached the premises in the morning and inhaled a poisonous substance, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Bhisham Singh.

The deceased were identified as Jagdish Singh (16) and Hargul Kaur (15), children of Hardeep Singh, the owner of the manufacturing unit, and his wife Harpreet Kaur (38).

Financial Distress May Have Triggered Incident

Preliminary investigations suggest the family was facing severe financial losses in their business, which may have driven them to take the extreme step. Authorities were alerted after one of the children managed to contact a relative, who then informed the police and emergency services.

Emergency Response and Medical Condition

Upon receiving the distress call, emergency teams rushed to the scene. Hardeep Singh and his two children were taken to Hindu Rao Hospital, while Harpreet Kaur was admitted to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital. Sadly, Jagdish and Hargul succumbed during treatment, while the parents remain in critical condition under medical observation.

Police Investigation Underway

The Delhi Police have sealed the industrial shed and are in the process of registering a case. A full investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances leading to the incident.

Authorities continue to examine the motive, while emphasizing the psychological toll of financial distress and the need for timely support mechanisms.
