The Delhi government will present the 'Viksit Delhi' budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the state assembly between March 24 and March 26, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Monday.

In a press conference held in New Delhi, CM Gupta emphasized that this budget would reflect the aspirations and inputs of citizens, marking it as a true "people's budget." To ensure public participation, consultations have been scheduled with representatives of various sections of society.

Public Consultations for Budget Preparation

Rekha Gupta said, "To make this a people's budget, we will meet representatives from different women's organizations on March 5 at the Delhi assembly premises. Further discussions are planned with key stakeholders from the education sector and trade community on March 6."

Additionally, CM Gupta invited Delhi residents to actively contribute their suggestions for the upcoming budget. She shared an official email address and a WhatsApp number, facilitating seamless public engagement in budget preparations.

BJP Promises and Anti-corruption Measures

Reaffirming her commitment to transparency and accountability, Gupta assured that all promises mentioned in the BJP's election manifesto, the 'Sankalp Patra,' would be delivered. "Our government is actively working on a war footing to fulfill each commitment," she added.

CM Gupta also highlighted issues related to the previous administration, pointing out that two Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports have already been tabled in the assembly, exposing multiple cases of corruption linked to the former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.

"Twelve more CAG reports are pending presentation in the assembly, and further irregularities are expected to surface," Gupta stated.

Cabinet ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, and Manjinder Singh Sirsa were also present at the press briefing.
