New Delhi, March 1: Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena inaugurated the Flower Festival 2025 on Saturday at Central Park, Connaught Place, marking a vibrant celebration of nature's beauty. The festival, organized by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), features an impressive display of over 10,000 potted plants, with 36 varieties of flowers, floral sculptures, thematic arrangements, and interactive exhibits.
The two-day event will remain open to the public until March 2, 2025.
Delhi’s Transformation into a ‘City of Flowers’
Addressing the attendees, Saxena reiterated his commitment to making Delhi a "City of Flowers", emphasizing the NDMC’s continuous efforts in enhancing the capital’s aesthetics."I am confident that we will soon succeed in making Delhi a City of Flowers," he stated, highlighting the positive reception from citizens and foreign diplomats.
Floral Attractions and Visitor Experience
The festival showcases a diverse collection of flowering plants, including Dahlia, Petunia, Pansy, Salvia, and Marigold. Visitors can also explore intricate floral art structures, including pyramids, heart-shaped installations, and selfie points designed for immersive experiences.A musical fountain with colorful lighting has been installed at the venue, adding to the scenic charm and enhancing the overall visitor experience.
NDMC’s Commitment to a Greener Delhi
NDMC Chairman Keshav Chandra assured that the civic body is dedicated to transforming New Delhi into a world-class, clean, and green city."Under the guidance of the LG of Delhi, NDMC is making every possible effort to realize the vision of making Delhi a city of flowers," he said.
As part of this initiative, flower pots and floral installations from the festival will be placed at key intersections, roundabouts, and roadsides to extend the festival’s floral charm across the city. Additionally, the LG encouraged Delhi residents to plant flowers in their homes to contribute to the city's greenery.

The Flower Festival 2025 is open to all with free entry and offers a variety of stalls, including nursery plants, bonsai, hydroponic setups, cacti, herbal plants, fertilizers, and decorative floral items.NDMC has urged citizens to visit the festival, enjoy the fragrance and beauty of spring, and support local horticulture initiatives.
Meanwhile, in a social media post, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the ongoing Palaash Festival 2025 by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) at Smriti Van, along with the blooming tulip gardens, as significant contributions to making Delhi a vibrant floral hub.
