Government Fully Prepared, No Scarcity of Essential Commodities in Delhi: Manjinder Singh Sirsa
New Delhi, May 10 — Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Delhi Food and Supplies Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has assured citizens that there is no shortage of essential goods in the national capital. He urged the public to remain calm and refrain from panic buying or stockpiling supplies."There is no need to panic. The government is working 24x7. All essential items are sufficiently available in Delhi. People should continue with their daily lives as usual," Sirsa stated on Saturday.
His statement comes in response to widespread reports of residents rushing to grocery stores and supermarkets in anticipation of potential disruptions. Addressing these concerns, Sirsa emphasized that the government is closely monitoring the situation and disaster management teams are fully active.

"We are ready across all parameters. The government is monitoring the situation closely and making all necessary preparations," he said.Reiterating the appeal to avoid panic-induced hoarding, Sirsa assured the public that there would be no scarcity or price hikes. "Do not stockpile items. Prices will not rise and there will be no scarcity," he added.
He also clarified that the recent siren testing at the Secretariat was part of routine preparedness drills. "There is no need for fear. We will also be discussing in our legislative party meeting how to keep the public calm and informed," Sirsa noted.
Strong Message to Pakistan
Taking a firm stance on the ongoing conflict, Sirsa criticized Pakistan’s actions, saying, "Instead of fighting terrorism within its own borders, Pakistan is choosing to target India. The country will remember the lesson it gets this time for a long time."The Delhi government has assured full support to maintain normalcy and safeguard public interests during this period of heightened national security concerns.
