New Delhi, Feb 3 (PTI) – A man wanted in connection with a brutal murder in east Delhi's GTB Enclave area has been arrested after evading law enforcement for four months, police officials confirmed on Monday.
The incident occurred on the night of September 29-30, 2024, near Jhilmil Metro Station when Anurag and his two friends, Rinku and Akash, were returning from a club. Their path was blocked by six men on three motorcycles, leading to an altercation that escalated into violence. Anurag was fatally stabbed, while his friends sustained injuries, according to a senior police officer.
Following the attack, an FIR was lodged, and an investigation was initiated. Four of the accused—Arjun Pandit, Rohit, Gopal, and Ashish—were apprehended earlier, while two suspects, Abhishek and Mohit, remained on the run.
On January 31, acting on a tip-off, a police team tracked Abhishek near a government school in Mandoli. He was swiftly taken into custody. Initially attempting to mislead investigators, he later confessed to his role in the crime, the officer stated.
Efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest the remaining accused, Mohit, as the investigation continues.
