Accused Targeted Victim for Humiliating Sister, Police Confirm

Four men were arrested in Delhi on Saturday for allegedly murdering a 20-year-old man in what police described as a revenge killing. The victim, identified as Hritik from Jagatpuri, was reportedly targeted for humiliating the sister of one of the accused, with whom he had previously eloped.

Victim’s Body Found with Severe Injuries

Hritik’s body was discovered on Friday, concealed in bushes on vacant land owned by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) in Kailash Colony. The victim bore severe injuries to his neck, and there was evidence indicating an attempt to disfigure his face, police officials reported.

Identity of the Accused Revealed

Delhi Police identified the arrested individuals as Shivam (20), Sonu (18), Suraj (23), and Vishal (18). Preliminary investigations revealed that the motive behind the murder stemmed from personal enmity between Hritik and Shivam, primarily related to Hritik's previous elopement with Shivam's sister.

Sequence of Events Leading to the Crime

According to the police, tensions escalated after Hritik visited Shivam’s residence late Thursday night, allegedly insulting his family members and further humiliating Shivam’s sister. In response, Shivam conspired with his associates—Sonu, Suraj, and Vishal—to kill Hritik.

The suspects allegedly invited Hritik to drink alcohol, subsequently luring him to a secluded spot in Kailash Colony, where they carried out the murder.

Confession and Recovery of Evidence

The accused confessed to the crime during police interrogation. Officials also recovered the murder weapon and clothes worn by the perpetrators at the time of the incident. A detailed investigation into the case remains ongoing.
