New Delhi, May 9 – In a significant breakthrough, Delhi Police have apprehended a 27-year-old man accused in multiple robbery cases from the Outer Ring Road area. The suspect, identified as Yusuf, had been evading arrest since February 14 following a gunpoint robbery in the Timar Pur area of north Delhi.
According to police officials, Yusuf and his associates allegedly robbed a man of ₹3,000 using a stolen vehicle during the February incident. A detailed background check revealed Yusuf’s extensive criminal record, with previous involvement in serious offences spanning across Ghaziabad, Hapur, and Noida.
"Yusuf had even sustained a bullet injury on his leg during an earlier encounter with Hapur Police, yet managed to escape," a senior police officer stated.
He was ultimately tracked down and arrested from Gautam Budh Nagar district in Uttar Pradesh.
During further investigation, authorities discovered that Yusuf is a proclaimed offender in a separate armed robbery case registered at Wazirabad Police Station. The case, dated October 1, 2024, involved the looting of ₹4.65 lakh on the Outer Ring Road.
Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of his criminal network and any accomplices involved.
