Delhi Police Arrests Man in Rs 73 Lakh Cheating Case

New Delhi, March 2 — The Delhi Police have successfully apprehended a man, Mohit, wanted in connection with a cheating case involving Rs 73 lakh. The arrest took place in Uchana Mandi, located in Jind, Haryana, an official confirmed on Sunday.

The case came to light after a complaint was filed by Ram Niwas on June 5, 2024. Niwas alleged that Mohit deceived him by promising to sell a non-existent plot of land in Singhu, Delhi, and fraudulently took Rs 73 lakh from him. Despite several efforts to locate the accused, Mohit had remained absconding.

Following an extensive search operation, the police were able to trace Mohit's whereabouts to the Uchana Kalan area, where he was arrested. The accused, a graduate from Sonipat, had previously worked as a property dealer but is now facing charges for allegedly defrauding people.

The case is under investigation as the authorities continue to gather further details regarding Mohit's activities.
