New Delhi, February 27 – The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has apprehended a 23-year-old sharpshooter from the Gogi-Ankesh Lakra gang, preventing a potential gang rivalry from escalating. Officials confirmed that the accused, identified as Vishal Lakra, was arrested from Rohini on February 25.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Satish Kumar, Vishal Lakra, a close aide of gang leader Ankesh Lakra, was found in possession of a pistol and two live cartridges at the time of his arrest. Following his interrogation, authorities recovered another firearm and additional ammunition from his residence.

Lakra, an active member of the notorious Gogi-Ankesh Lakra gang, hails from Mundka village in Delhi. He has been imprisoned twice before, forming a deeper alliance with Ankesh Lakra during his second jail term.

Investigations revealed that Vishal was assigned to avenge the murder of Amit Lakra, a close associate, allegedly killed by members of the rival Neeraj Bawana gang. Reportedly, Ankesh Lakra, deeply affected by Amit’s murder, had tasked Vishal with securing weapons and retaliating against the Neeraj Bawana-Tillu gang.

Police acted swiftly, thwarting any planned violence by arresting Vishal before he could execute his orders. He has been charged under multiple sections of the Arms Act.

The arrest marks another significant step in Delhi Police’s ongoing crackdown on organized crime and gang violence in the capital.
