Delhi Police to Intensify Efforts Against Organised Crime, Focus on Jailed Gangsters and International Networks

New Delhi, March 2 – Delhi Police is set to ramp up its efforts to tackle organised crime, with a particular focus on dismantling criminal networks operating from within jails and abroad. The decision comes after a high-level meeting held on Saturday at the Delhi Police headquarters, following a review session led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday.

The review meeting, which also saw the participation of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi Home Minister Ashish Sood, and Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, focused on enhancing policing strategies to address the evolving crime landscape in the national capital.

Strategic Action Against Emerging Criminals

Sources reveal that during the Saturday meeting, Delhi Police officials outlined plans to create a list of emerging criminals and devise measures to break down their networks. Surveillance on notorious jailed gangsters such as Kaushal Chaudhary and Neeraj Bawana will be intensified. Additionally, gangsters operating from abroad—including Anmol Bishnoi, Arsh Dala, Goldy Brar, Himanshu Bhau, Lucky Patial, Jagga Dhurkot, Virendra Charan, Amardeep Bishnoi, Noni Rana, Mahender Saharan, Rahul, Mahender Meghwanshi, and Naveen Boxer—will be closely monitored.

A senior police officer shared that juveniles with criminal backgrounds, either directly or indirectly connected to these gangsters, will also be scrutinised. Plans are in place to create a list of these juveniles, with a recommendation to have them tried as adults for serious crimes.

Monitoring Social Media and Criminal Associations

In a bid to stay ahead of the criminal networks, Delhi Police will closely monitor the social media profiles of gangsters and their associates to identify any illegal activities or connections. "Those who are supporting the gangsters in any way will also come under police radar, and their actions will be under continuous surveillance," added the officer.

Focus on Crime Prevention and Public Safety

The meeting also involved discussions on measures to curb various forms of crime in the city. A significant focus will be on preventing street crimes, ensuring the safety of women, and tackling organised criminal networks. Efforts to disrupt drug supply chains both nationally and internationally were also addressed.

Further measures include intensified round-the-clock patrolling across the city, particularly in areas prone to snatching and robbery. A special emphasis will be placed on the protection of senior citizens and children, with police stations tasked to improve communication and coordination with these vulnerable groups.

Addressing Traffic Congestion and Improving Coordination

Additionally, the meeting covered issues surrounding traffic congestion in the city. The Delhi Police is in the process of formulating strategies to alleviate bottlenecks and ensure smoother movement across key areas. Improving outreach and collaboration between senior citizens and police personnel was also highlighted as a top priority.

As the capital city faces mounting challenges with criminal activities, Delhi Police is committed to taking comprehensive steps to ensure public safety and dismantle criminal networks both domestically and internationally.
