New Delhi, February 2 (PTI) – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Sahiram from Tughlaqabad of corruption, claiming that his associate accepted money on his behalf for supplying kits for a robotics course in Delhi government schools.

At a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia presented a purported sting video, alleging that Gaurav Bhati, a close associate of MLA Sahiram, was caught accepting cash. "This is a clear case of quid pro quo. The money was taken in exchange for introducing robotics kits in government schools, charging students between ₹1,500 and ₹2,200," Bhatia claimed.

He further alleged that the money was received by Sahiram's secretary in his name, adding that the MLA even tried to reach out to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal regarding the matter.

In response, the AAP dismissed the allegations as a desperate attempt by the BJP to malign its leaders ahead of the upcoming Delhi elections. "The BJP has nothing left in Delhi except indulging in baseless blame games. Their history is filled with making allegations and then escaping," the party stated.

AAP asserted that similar attempts by the BJP had failed in the past and would continue to do so, as the people of Delhi firmly support their governance. "The people will give the BJP a fitting response on February 5, the day of the Delhi elections," the party added.

With just days left before the crucial polls, the political battle between AAP and BJP has intensified, with corruption allegations becoming a focal point in the campaign narrative.
