New Delhi, May 18 — The national capital experienced a warm morning on Sunday, with the minimum temperature recorded at 26.9 degrees Celsius, slightly above the seasonal average by 0.4 degrees, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The weather department has predicted a partly cloudy sky throughout the day, with a possibility of thunder and lightning. The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 41 degrees Celsius.
At 8:30 am, the relative humidity was measured at 62 per cent. Meanwhile, Delhi received about 1 millimetre of rainfall over the last 24 hours, from 8 am on Saturday to the same time on Sunday. Rain showers were reported in several areas including Central Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida, Maharani Bagh, and Mayur Vihar.
The air quality in the city remained in the 'moderate' category on Sunday morning, with the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) recording an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 138 at 9 am.
As per CPCB standards, an AQI reading between 101 and 200 is classified as ‘moderate’, posing an acceptable level of health concern for sensitive individuals.
